River Club is one of the premier golf courses in the Myrtle Beach area because of its great layout and aesthetic beauty. As the name suggests, water is an integral part of the River Club experience. Bunkers also play an important role in this Tom Jackson design.
While it is both beautiful and challenging, River Club is also golfer-friendly. When played from the right tees, golfers of all skill levels enjoy River Club. Accuracy hitting off the tee is not as important as hitting good approach shots into the greens, as most fairways provide a generous landing area and most greens are guarded by sand or water.
The finishing hole at River Club is one of the finest around. This par-5 dogleg left was featured in the “The 100 Greatest Holes Along the Grand Strand.” With water running down the left side, aggressive players may try to take shortcuts, often reaching the green with two well-struck shots.
While everyone remembers hole # 18, there are many other memorable holes at River Club as well. The beautiful landscaping and consistent conditions make an impression on all who play here.
