History:

Red Carpet Golf Course opened in the summer of 1920, and symbolized the arrival of modern-era golf in the Waterloo area. Tom Bendelow, a very well respected course designer in his era, was hired to lay out this fine facility. Bendelow's work speaks for itself, as he has also designed several other courses in the United States, including Medinah Country Club, Olympia Fields, and Hyperion Field Club in Johnston, Iowa.

The tradition of fine golf at Red Carpet has been enriched throughout the years with a number of well known players. In 1933, Walter Hagen made his second appearance to the course. In that same year, reigning United States and British Open champion Gene Sarazen made a stop to play at Red Carpet.

We now invite you to enjoy this historic facility. Located only one mile east of US Highway 63 on Newell Street in Waterloo, Iowa.
