Greystone is a classic tree lined course with many lakes and streams, adding beauty and challenge to your round. With its challenging layout, you will find club selection at Greystone critical. One of the highest handicapped holes is our par 4 #11. The relatively small landing area for the tee shot is only about 200 to 240 yards away and needs to cross wetlands and the corner of a lake. The shot needs to be well placed to avoid the lakes on both sides of the fairway. The second shot of 110 to 160 yards is mostly carry over a lake to the multi-tiered green. But for sheer excitement, our par 5 #9 and par 5 #18 can’t be beat. In both cases you cross water twice before hitting a highly protected green adjacent to a lake on #9 and an approach shot to an island green on #18. With 14 lakes and all the natural carry, there is little need for a slew of sand bunkers at Greystone.
But don't be intimidated. While Greystone's golf course is recognized as one of the more challenging in the state, playing from the proper tees will make your foray into this golfing experience one you'll not forget. Only a highly skilled golfer should take on the course from the 'tips'! He or she will be forced to shape shots and think through the entire round. Alternatively, playing from the Member Tees removes many hazards and sets up as a comfortable and enjoyable challenge for the average golfer!
