About
Cinder Ridge 18-hole championship public golf course designed by owner George Kappos was 4 years in the making. Nominated for best design in 1995 by Golf Digest and 4 Stars in 2004
Cinder Ridge spreads through 350 acres which winds over and through diving ravines, flat areas and coal refuse, created 70 years ago by the mining operations. Remnants of the tipple are evident throughout the course.
Our 10,000 sq. foot clubhouse is built on the same steel frame structure where the main offices of Peabody Coal were held from 1927 to 1953. Pictures are displayed in the lobby.
