About Us:

Chicopee Woods Golf Course, convenient to North Atlanta, Gwinnett and surrounding counties, is located only one mile from I-985 in the rolling foothills of the North Georgia Mountains. This beautiful course in Gainesville, Georgia is home to 27 holes that have to be played to be appreciated. Home to GA PGA sectional and state tournaments, including a past Georgia Public Links Championship, it is a true way to test your golfing ability. Unlike country club courses, Chicopee Woods is a public pay course built with no homes on the course. The 27 holes are divided into 3 nines named after the original Chicopee community. While all three are blended to make a great round no matter which nines are played, they each have a distinct feel:

The Village is a true traditional course. Little water, big greens and wide fairways offer a thorough test to all golfers.

The School, along with the Village, is part of the original 18 holes. It has water on 4 holes but the same greens size and fairways as the Village.

The Mill is the newest nine but fits in wonderfully with the other 18 holes. Shorter in yardage, it has a drivable par four as well as the longest par 3 on the course.

All fairways are lined with abundant trees that guide golfers through a wonderful array of nature. Seen daily are deer, hawks, ducks, geese, and our resident egret that may greet you on any hole.

Designed by the renowned golf course architect, Dennis Griffiths, each hole is an experience unto itself. There are no adjacent holes where you can play out of another fairway. Chicopee Woods is truly a “woods” course that can be enjoyed by golfers of all handicaps.

Five sets of tees, from the front red tees to the back gold tees, start each hole. From there you play into beautiful wide fairways to some of the finest greens offered by a public course.

The golf course complex boasts one of the best practice facilities in the area.

A large putting green is just the beginning of the practice area that can be used by golfers of any ability.

A driving range with a 3 tiered tee, a chipping green, and a green surrounded by 3 sand traps, let the golfer practice any shot imaginable. Also in this area is learning facility where any golfer can take lessons that includes videotaping your swing before your lesson and then afterward to see the progress you have made.

All practice greens are built to USGA specs and maintained just as the greens on the course are.

Before, during and after your round, the grill is open for your refreshment needs.

The pro shop staff is happy to answer any questions, arrange tee times, schedule lessons, and is there to make your golfing round is truly special.

Play a round at Chicopee Woods Golf Course and experience what true golf is about.
