The Mahnomen Country Club was first organized in 1935 when a small group of area men started golfing in a pasture on this location. It was developed that year and became the Oakcrest Golf Course. Mahnomen Country Club is a nine-hole course, open to the public. Nestled among oak trees, it lies along the White Earth River about 1 mile east of Mahnomen.
