Airport Golf Course
Airport Golf Course, designed by Jack Kidwell, opened in 1966. The golf course is adjacent to the Greater Columbus International Airport so golfers can watch airplanes take off and land as they play their round of golf. A young apprentice, Dr. Michael Hurdzan, worked with Mr. Kidwell when he designed the golf course. Little did Dr. Hurdzan realize 46 years later, he would be asked In redesign the course.
Combining many of Mr. Kidwell's ideas for public course play along with using his own ideas of modern golf design, Dr. Hurdzan created a new gem. Thus, it still has the same integrity of the original Kidwell design to insure its playability for all golfers of all ages and all skill levels, but with some updated challenging twists that will keep golfers wanting to play time and time again.
